Here is what is coming up next for our January Series

Over the next few days I want to slow down. Next week I am probably not going to blog, I plan on spending time journaling everyday and being with family. I want to hold my baby a lot and see her scream with glee at seeing grandma and grandpa.
I am listening to Jack Johnson's "inaudible memories" might explain a few things.
I think that there are seasons that are designed for us to slow down and reflect. I want to discover what God has in the new year for me personally, my family and the church. This week is a time to rejuvenate, love passionately, feast, celebrate all the amazing things God has done.
If I take time to really think about what God has done I am astounded. He truly is the Joy giver. He truly is the source of all good things. I think sometimes we forget what God has done and we see what obstacles frustrate us. Joy is found in our satisfaction with what we have and is lost with our unhealthy pursuit of things we do not have.
This Christmas lets find pleasure in every thing that we can. Lets enjoy everything we have and are given. Lets savor this week like we were tasting it for the first time and may never taste it again.
Merry Christmas...

Just to fallow up on my puppy... We have a house sitter for her. Thank you all of you who took an interest.
We had a huge win this week. A few weeks ago the theatre executives decided that they wanted to start showing movies earlier on Sunday. Normally this would not be a problem I love that people are faced with the option of whether to go to church or a movie. (I know movies win out a lot but I also know that where two or more are gathered the lord is in there midst. So when people are watching the movie they are potentially and prayerfully experiencing God.) When the early movies started the theatre informed us that we would need to radically change the way we are doing our children's set up.
I was thrown into a panic. The set up we had to change to was stressful to parents and volunteers. So we went through a giant list of possibilities and options for us. In the end none of them seemed Ideal. This week Elizabeth and Leah and a few other faithful children's workers devised a plan to add 8 more fences and 50 more pieces of flooring and then it just might be better then what we had before.
I am always praying and thinking about how we can better our kids area. We have highly trained and motivated people who work with all ages of our kids. They are our next generation of world changers and I want to see High Point raise up kids that will stand strong against the force of this world.
I want to set the record straight... I told a story on Sunday that when I got home discovered that I misrepresented how the Farina family gives gifts. I wanted to let you know that we do not on a regular basis re-gift gifts. (My dad might get a re-gift.) But normally what happens is Elizabeth buys several things when she sees them for a good deal and then puts them on the shelf in our guest closet. When someone comes over or when we need a gift spur of the moment we have gift bags ready to go and presents ready to go. If you get a gift from us "Neil" it is not a re-gift. I wanted to make that clear because I don't for the sake of a good laugh want to give you the wrong impression of our gift giving policy and then when you get something from us wonder who we got it from.
I will also tell you that nothing this year for E is a re-gift. I am actually debating whether I want to get her one more thing that will put me over budget or wait for her birthday for it.

Well my first Christmas with a child and it took me 2 and a half hours to put together grandmas gift of the f1 excesoser. I seriously thought that this was only in the movies. How can something that takes me so long to put together cost so much. At what it cost it should be put together for me or have a guy come over and install it. My stereo took less time to install. I guess I have the rest of her life to develop my toy construction skills. I think a few more of these and I could get a job at Toys R Us.
Merry Christmas :)
I found this amazing site that can help with tracking and evaluating your pocket book.
This is a remarkable site and it works so simply. I think it is worth a 10 minute set up and quick look. The hardest part is remembering the passwords.
Daisy is a house trained dog with a lot of energy. She is a lot of fun and loves people. She gets a into a lot of things so be prepared to see her grab your magazine and run off with it but she is just playing with you. If you are interested in helping us for the Christmas week. We are leaving after Sunday and are coming home on Saturday. I would appreciate the help. Let me know if you are interested or have more questions.
We had an amazing time last night at the second annual Christmas Party. It was a ton of fun to be with all of you. I heard a few of you already planning a Valentines night. Sounds fun to me.
Thanks to Chad, Courtney, Ike and Kendall for providing the music and sound. It was a ton of work and you guys made it look easy. Thank you to Amy for doing a lot of the prep and cleanup.
The food was great and so were the conversations. I hope you got to know a few more people than you had previously.
It is fun to get the family together and celebrate Jesus. Take some time this Christmas season and remember who Jesus was and what he did for your life.
